The team was originaly formed in 2002 as part of Salisbury Juniors Fc by Jon Hill. In 2004 the team became part of Salisbury City FC juniors set up and enjoyed a lot of success in both league and cup competitions. It was decided in 2007 by the parents to leave Salisbury City and form our own club: hence Sarum Youth was reborn, coached by Jon and Paul the team continue to improve as the club develops.
Sarum Youth Fc has been a name associated with youth football in the Salisbury area for many years. Previous managers of Sarum Youth include Mark Glover and Steve Penny who now run teams in the Salisbury & District Leagues. The Club has been granted FA Charter Status in October 2008 a year after forming as Sarum Youth, this was as a result of all the work put into the club from the volunteers, parents and most importantly the players. With effect of the 2009/10 season a number of teams represented Sarum, and expansion in future seasons is planned.
Strong ties exist with Pembroke Park School and Harnham Junior School. Under the three lions scheme we are assisting in training the school teams and with effect of the 2009/2010 season all home games will be played at Pembroke Park School, using the fantastic facilities available. We understand for children to play football to the best of their ability they should have quality pitches to play and train on. In July 2009 the F.A upgraded our Charter Status to Development Club, being one of only a small number of clubs in the county to gain the award. All the money raised by the club is channelled back into the respective teams, this ensures our players have everything they require at their disposal. We are strong believers in offering children club activities within and outside of football, having fun is a key element. Should you wish to join, either as a player or a volunteer please get in touch and we will be happy to show you all that Sarum Youth is about.
The club wishes to thank the following people for all their support in the past and hopefully their continued help in the future:
Turbulence Records and Thornton Dry Lining and Plastering.
